"Reality is a funny thing, you know... Reality is what you believe; believe
it to be. It's what you put your thought and energy into, because your hands
physically manifest thought. So your world becomes what you feel and what
you think."
"You have to realize: ok, I don't know how to solve a political problem, I
don't know how to solve the pollution problem... all I know is in my own life,
I need to figure out some sense of purpose, I need to figure out how to
be happy... and I'm willing to give up looking at all you and trying to do
everyone else's laundry and look at myself and what do I need... and that's
profound. We point so many fingers and go 'this person isn't... are you
blah blah blah?" If we all just took care of ourselves it'd be very
efficient... all I can do ultimately in my own life... all I can speak
is from my experience."

Jewel was in Jeers in the June 10th issue of TV Guide. Of course, we don't want to read about such things. . . but if you do, here's the text.
Addicted To Noise had a short article on Jewel in it's June 5, 1996 report. Check it out here.
"Who Will Save Your Soul" became Jewel's first CD Single on Tuesday, June 4th. The unusually packaged disc's B-side is "Near You Always."
Conan O'Brien led off his Tuesday June 4, 1996 show with a comment on the recent Jewel frisbee incident. It went something like this "I don't know if you're aware of this story or not but singer Jewel was recently hit with a frisbee and walked off stage during a performance. . .It was just announced that frisbees will be made available at all Michael Bolton concerts." The down side of this joke is that it made no mention of it not being at her own show and fans.
Jewel was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday, June 4th, 1996. She performed a bluesier, tougher, stronger "Who Will Save Your Save Your Soul" and became the first guest in the history of the Tonight Show to ever be invited to sing the same song twice. She performed it also on December 26th, 1995. Jewel also got to sit in the guest chair and say a couple words before the credits rolled. Jay asked if she could teach him to yodel on a later date. Jewel countered with "no time like the present" but Jay said they should have something to look forward to on her next appearance. Jewel did oblige and do a quick one line yodel. I have some pics from the performance here.
