    RHCP pickAnother guest star sits in with Jewel in the studio. Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers was in the area for a few days and stepped in on bass on "Sometimes It Be That Way."


    The 1996 MTV Video Music Award nominations were announced on 7/30. Jewel's WWSYS was up for two:

    There's a small blurb in Detail Magazine's September issue (Noah Wylie cover) on page 249 with a small reprint of the photo from TV Guide.

    This month: Jewel
    "I grew up in Alaska. I've been performing live since I was six years old, and in barrooms since I was eight. I was very driven. We toured Eskimo villages and I yodeled - it was just a novelty thing. People have always loved yodeling."

    Jewelstock was mentioned in Jewel's appearance on VH-1's "hello my name is..." feature at the top of the hour. It included a short interview and performance of YWMFM. Following the interview portion the VJ came on and talked about Jewelstock and how "she played for fans in upstate NY for about 2 1/2 hours with encores and signed autographs after the show for everyone. And fans got word about the event via her website."
