My So-Called Life, Childhoods of the stars.
This month: Jewel
"I grew up in Alaska. I've been performing live since I was six
years old, and in barrooms since I was eight. I was very driven.
We toured Eskimo villages and I yodeled - it was just a novelty
thing. People have always loved yodeling."
Jewelstock was mentioned in Jewel's appearance on VH-1's "hello my name is..." feature at the top of the hour. It included a short interview and performance of YWMFM. Following the interview portion the VJ came on and talked about Jewelstock and how
"she played for fans in upstate NY for about 2 1/2 hours with encores and signed
autographs after the show for everyone. And fans got word about the event
via her website."
