Moby On Possible Collaboration With Jewel

Moby wraps up his stint on the MTV Campus Invasion Tour with Bush next week, and he has already begun demo-ing material for the follow-up to his gold-selling commercial breakthrough, "Play."

The dance and electronica guru previously told MTV News that he was hoping that the new record would have a romantic atmosphere, and Moby is even contemplating a collaboration of some sort with Jewel.

Moby and Jewel performed together back in February at a MusicCares benefit in Los Angeles honoring Elton John, and Moby recently chatted with MTV about how he first met Jewel while doing a TV appearance in the U.K.

"I met Jewel about three or four years ago," Moby said. "We were both doing 'Top Of The Pops' in England at the same time, and we became friends, which might seem strange 'cause our musical approach is quite different.

"This might sound strange, but she's one of the most talented musicians I've ever met. We had this one night, she was in a studio in New York, and I went and visited her. We just sat around for hours and hours, playing piano, singing and playing guitar. She's really unbelievably talented."
